London Maternity Photographer | Studio Maternity Photography in Wimbledon

Introduction

Pregnancy is such a fleeting and meaningful time, and choosing the right London maternity photographer can make all the difference in how that chapter is remembered. For many expectant parents, a maternity photoshoot is not just about beautiful images, but about feeling supported, confident, and at ease throughout the experience.

As a London maternity photographer based in Wimbledon, I specialise in calm, natural maternity photography that celebrates you exactly as you are — without awkward posing or pressure to perform. Whether this is your first baby or your last, maternity photography is a chance to pause and honour this moment before everything changes.

When Is the Best Time for a Maternity Photoshoot?

One of the most common questions I’m asked is when to book a maternity photoshoot. The ideal time for maternity photography is usually between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.

At this stage:

  • Your bump is beautifully defined
  • You’re usually still comfortable enough to move easily
  • There’s flexibility if baby arrives earlier than expected

That said, every pregnancy is different, and sessions are always planned around how you’re feeling.

What to Wear for Your Maternity Photoshoot

Knowing what to wear can feel overwhelming, which is why I offer access to a curated client wardrobe for maternity sessions. Flowing dresses, soft fabrics, and neutral tones photograph beautifully and help create timeless images.

You’re welcome to:

  • Choose from the studio wardrobe
  • Bring your own outfits
  • Mix both options

I’m always happy to help with styling guidance ahead of your session.

Can Partners and Children Be Included?

Absolutely. Many maternity sessions include partners and older children, creating a beautiful record of your growing family.

Sessions are gently guided and relaxed — children are never expected to sit still or “perform.” The aim is to capture natural interaction and connection, alongside individual maternity portraits.
